Real Coventions of Media texts

AS Coursework

As my magazine was based around the Hip Hop genre, I researched into Hip Hop artist to see what the majority of them have in common for example, the way they dress. I noticed that all Hip Hop artist had lots of tattoos, and wore baggy jeans with a vest. This was a convention that i wanted to use to ensure that my artist looked as if he was a real artist.

POST MODERN?

Can this be considered postmodern, due to the way, the guitar is played??

'Somebody That I Used to Know' by Walk off the Earth... ENJOY!!

Digital Technology AS!

One of the main software i used was Adobe Photoshop, which allowed me to manipulate the pictures that I had took using my still camera. Using Photoshop gave me the chance to use various tools such as magnetci tool, which allowed me to cut around my image accuraetly, so that i could change my background to fit my genre, which was Hip Hop.
To find an appropriate font to fit the look im trying to create, i used the website www.myfont.com as it offered thousands of different ofnts to fit individual needs. Being able to add layers, really helped create a proffsional loos, because on real magazines, texts and images are always layered over eachother. So being able to this also helped create a realistic finish.

Post Production

AS Post Production:
-editing using photoshop (adobe)

-tools used were 'magic wand tool' to earse any background colour which was not needed.
- all fonts were specificly chosen to fit with the text and genre of th emagazine. all fonts were from www.myfonts.com and www.dafont.com

PROS AS

- Using Adobe photoshop allowed me to use a variety of editing tools, to manipulate my image, for example, change background colour to black as most hiphop genre magazines have black backgrounds.

CONS AS

- Adobe photoshop was really difficult to use as t was my first time tusing it. Trying to figure out which tool does what, was really time consuming which meant I had less time trying to design and make the magazine.

- As it was my first time using the programme i dont think that i created a magzine to my best potential.

A2 Post Production:

-iMovie was used to edit our footage

-clip were cut to fit with lip sync

-'day to night' tool was used to apply a black and white affect. This was done to help represent the past.

- transmitions were also used, which helped the music video flow. they were applied between different scenes so it makes the audience understand the narrative alot cleare rather than just having a jump between the scenes.
